The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has called on various stakeholders to recognize the importance of cooperation in order to achieve goals by investing financial resources in strengthening research, improving health infrastructure and ensuring access to equal treatment for cancer patients in the country.
President Dr. Mwinyi said this at an investment platform aimed at strengthening cancer services in the country, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel Dar es Salaam on Feb 06, 2024.
Likewise, President Dr. Mwinyi has explained that through cooperation between the Government, the private sector, researchers and medical professionals can change the image of cancer treatment services in the country.
President Dr. Mwinyi has said that the Government has begun to take measures to deal with non-communicable diseases including cancer by building infrastructure for health services, strategies for access to quality medical services for all.
Likewise, President Dr. Mwinyi has thanked the United States Government for their cooperation in achieving the implementation of development plans including the health sector in the country.
He also thanked the stakeholders of Global Health Catalyst who have committed to cooperate with the government in the fight against cancer, local investors led by the Tanzania Private Sector Institute (TPSF) as well as the CEO Roundtable for their willingness to cooperate with the government.
President Dr. Mwinyi has thanked the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan for his leadership and efforts to strengthen the welfare of development in the country.
